What is NEXT?

We are an organization that helps young adults between the ages of 16-24 who are not in school achieve their goals by providing career and employment services, and even assistance obtaining a GED. Our team is community driven and ready. Let’s design your future!

Ways we serve:

  • 1-on-1 connection with a Career Coach, who can guide you through various career options and assist you every step of the way in getting to where you want to go
  • GED tutoring and testing services
  • Help you research, apply, and pay for college or trade school programs
  • Help you find and apply for college or trade school scholarships
  • Help you find, register, and pay for professional certification
  • Organize career exploration opportunities, such as field trips to tour or shadow various businesses
  • Help you look for jobs and connect you to local companies we partner with and who are looking to hire
  • Connect and support you through a paid internship with businesses throughout the community looking to mentor young processionals
  • Offer professional development workshops, where we can help you create or edit your resume and cover letter, or prepare for job interviews
  • Offer professional development workshops that help you build skills, like how to advocate for yourself in the workplace or how to manage your work time
  • Offer financial support for things you need to build your professional pathway – gas vouchers and bus passes to help you get to interviews or work, new professional clothing, etc.
  • Connections to drug and alcohol counseling
  • Connections to mental health counseling
  • Finance workshops taught by local finance professionals from banks and credit unions
  • Information related to filing an initial Unemployment Insurance claim
    (NEXT cannot file a claim for you, determine your eligibility, or assist with already-filed claims. The Employment Security Department (ESD) administers all Unemployment Insurance programs. Get more information at https://esd.wa.gov/unemployment.)
